MEP–01 · Service
MEP design and design management
Comprehensive mechanical, electrical and public-health design with an explicit Basis of Design, coordinated information flow and accountable technical oversight.
MM / MEP–01A coordinated MEP strategy that connects performance criteria, plant and utility decisions, discipline interfaces and deliverable responsibility.
Scope of service
Defined outputs, interfaces and stage responsibility.
The final scope is matched to the procurement route, available information and design responsibility. Unconfirmed inputs are held as project risks rather than hidden assumptions.
Scope
- Project brief and performance criteria
- MEP system options and concept strategy
- Basis of Design and responsibility matrix
- Mechanical, electrical and public-health coordination
- Plant-room, riser and distribution-zone planning
- Design programme and information-release control
Project stages
- Feasibility and due diligence
- Concept and option assessment
- Coordinated design development
- Tender and technical issue
- Construction-stage design support
Typical deliverables
- Design brief and Basis of Design report
- System schematics and coordinated layouts
- Equipment and plant schedules
- Technical specifications
- Design-risk and decision registers
- Tender information
Critical interfaces
The design is controlled at the points where disciplines meet.
Architecture and ceiling zones
Structure and penetrations
Façade, louvres and heat rejection
Utilities and authority requirements
Fire strategy and compartmentation
Controls, metering and commissioning
Standards and review
Issue only what can be traced and checked.
Applicable Georgian regulations and authority requirements; relevant CIBSE, BSRIA, BS, BS EN, ISO and project-specific criteria.
The appointment defines discipline scope, contractor-design portions, third-party information dependencies and the review authority at each stage. Information is not described as coordinated until those interfaces have been checked.
Relevant sectors
Applied where the operational brief shapes the engineering.
Appointment questions
Clarify responsibility before work starts.
Can Milli MEP lead only the MEP design-management role?
Yes, where the discipline designers, authority interfaces, information responsibilities and review powers are stated in the appointment.
What information is needed before concept design starts?
The architectural brief, area schedule, occupancy, utility information, project programme, fire-strategy status and intended procurement route form the minimum useful starting set.
Does an MEP appointment include every specialist design?
No. Specialist and contractor-design portions must be named, with performance criteria, coordination duties, review status and final design responsibility recorded.
